What to expect in anxiety counseling with 180 Evolution Therapy

Personalized Service

Your initial session is dedicated to conducting an assessment that explores all aspects of your life that may be contributing to your anxiety. Next, we create a personalized plan to fit your needs and goals.

Targeted Approach

Our targeted approach will focus on supporting you in achieving your goals by developing a plan to equip you with a new toolkit to navigate the happenings in your life that keep you from accomplishing your goals.

Integrative Sessions

Therapy is based on the belief that people will have the ability to find the answer to their problems within themselves by using the therapist for support in their healing process. Therapies used include Client-Centered, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Holistic Therapy. Client-Centered Therapy is a nondirective counseling approach that requires the client to take an active role in their treatment with the therapist being nondirective and supportive. CBT is another form of talk therapy that emphasizes helping individuals address negative behaviors, thoughts, and feelings that affect one’s mood. Finally, Holistic Therapy focuses on addressing the "whole" person by integrating a person's physical, emotional, social, and spiritual well-being into the therapeutic process.

Frequently asked questions about anxiety therapy.

You may believe therapy can help you but you still have questions about anxiety counseling.

  • There are a variety of treatment options available for managing anxiety. Depending on the client’s mental health history, diagnosis, and symptoms, medication may be needed in addition to psychotherapy to assist the client with reducing the intensity of their symptoms.

  • Treatment for anxiety should be assessed on a case-by-case basis. Psychotherapy can be used as a primary approach to medication; however, an evaluation would be necessary to determine the client’s needs.

  • Some techniques I use to support clients in managing their anxiety are Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Mindfulness-based cognitive therapy (MBCT). The goal of utilizing these therapies is to help my clients manage their anxiety while conducting a Root Cause Analysis to support them in exploring and identifying the root cause of their problems to create appropriate solutions to address their intrusive thoughts, emotions, and behaviors.

  • Clients who desire to incorporate their spirituality to support them in managing their anxiety are encouraged to do so because spiritual practices help clients identify ways to use their core beliefs associated with their spirituality to render hope and healing to the mind, body, and spirit.
