Full Bio

Lydia Thompson knows what it feels like to sit in that chair.

Before she became a therapist, she was a client, and that experience shaped everything about how she shows up in the room today. She has had therapists who truly saw her, and ones who did not. That contrast became the quiet fire behind her calling: to be the kind of therapist who makes every person feel genuinely heard, not just assessed.

Lydia's journey taught her something she now carries into every session — healing is not always pretty. There will be moments that are uncomfortable, even painful. But she has lived the truth that those moments are not the end of the story. She used to believe she would be stuck forever. Therapy showed her how far that belief was from the truth. Now, she helps her clients discover the same.

Lydia specializes in working with BIPOC women, older adults, and couples — individuals and partnerships navigating the layered weight of identity, relationships, and life's transitions. She brings over a decade of experience as both an advocate and clinician, a master's degree in social work, and advanced training in trauma-informed care to every session.

Her approach is integrative and whole-person, drawing from Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Narrative Therapy, Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Compassion Focused Therapy (CFT). She believes that healing involves the whole person, mind, body, and spirit, and works collaboratively with clients to untangle the patterns that have kept them stuck and build the clarity and confidence to move forward.

Faith is not separate from Lydia's work — it is woven into the fabric of who she is. For clients who desire it, she integrates faith principles into the therapeutic space with care and intentionality, honoring each person's spiritual journey without imposing it.
